“Sup, brah! Sup, brah! Take a swing, brah. Right here, brah! What makes you the authority, brah?!”
Randy Marsh could totally take Bane. Any day.
This post is dedicated to the beautiful mother of three, amazing children, Lauren, Mariah and Adam. Her name was Ellen Ruth Toy Alfred-Russell.
Dear Ellen,
I unfortunately will never get to meet you, but I feel as though I would have loved you like my own mother. The way Lauren talks about you brings out a smile on her face as well as my own. I can hear the sorrow in her voice whenever you are mentioned and that is just natural like the flow of tears that follow. I remind her of all the good things you left her with. The memories she shares with me are something I told her to cherish for as long she lives. You are always watching and protecting as she grows older. You show her right from wrong, even when she doesn’t know it. You always tell her that she is beautiful, but does not see it. I try my best to console her and she knows that I’m trying the hardest I can. Hopefully one day she will see the things you and I see in her. We both want the same things in life for her and I promise you, I will always protect her like you are and always will be doing. I will tuck her in at night and make sure she knows how beautiful, smart and amazing she is. Ellen, you are always in my prayers and I know that you are reading this as I write it. You are Lauren’s angel, and now you are mine. I promise that every July 11, the day we share our birthday, will be more of a day to remember you and all the things you brought into this world. The three most important being, Lauren, Mariah, and Adam. Keep in touch.
Love, your future son-in-law,
Stephen Richard Guerra
